Description:
Seeking a physician specialized in Internal Medicine with a focus on Gastroenterology.
Coverage needed for 24-hour shifts.
Provider must hold a valid Missouri license.
The physician will not require ERCP or EUS for hospital emergency department call or clinic call.
Coverage dates will vary, with multiple shifts required each month.
The position does not have mid-level support.
The facility operates with a 12-bed department.
Patient encounters per shift can range from 0 to 6.
Specific skills required include:
- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy
- Foreign body removal
- Fulguration of bleeders
- Injection of varices
- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
- PEG placement
- Esophageal dilatation and manometry
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision
- Liver biopsy
- Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
The facility is classified as Trauma Level 3.
The contract is anticipated to require ongoing coverage through the end of 2026.
