Senior Applied Scientist for AWS Marketplace

The AWS Marketplace & Partner Services Science team is on the lookout for an experienced Applied Scientist to spearhead innovation across various AI domains. This includes Context Engineering in Agent-based Systems, developing Agent Evaluation Frameworks, and pioneering Next-generation Software Recommendations. Your contributions will play a critical role in transforming how customers discover software solutions for cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and enhance context engineering solutions for large language models and agent-based systems.
- Establish evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess agent performance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering, to translate scientific innovations into tangible customer value.
- Mentor fellow Scientists and promote a scientific approach across the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep expertise in state-of-the-art AI methodologies, especially concerning recommendation systems and agent-based architectures.
- Experience in prompt engineering and context optimization for large language models.
- A proven record of delivering production-scale AI solutions.
- Strong ability to assess technical feasibility and communicate complex concepts to business stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and steering collaborative research initiatives.

Our compensation reflects varying labor costs across US markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market to $260,000/year in our highest. Pay is influenced by several factors, including market location, job-related skills, and experience.
