Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the ACIO/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA. ** The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption. ** Responsibilities You will expertly analyze network traffic (Wireshark) for swift threat mitigation. You will configure/manage diverse network devices (Cisco) for maximum performance/security. You will proficiently administer VMware vSphere/Hyper-V for optimized resource utilization/high availability. You will administer Windows Servers (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell) for secure/reliable operations. You will implement advanced Windows Group Policies for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) compliance and provide hardening for preventative measures to defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. You will coordinate and participate in technology life-cycle activities that involve server operations, virtualization and other server services, to include performance monitoring tools. You will coordinate technology deployments and implement standard configuration settings to comply with DOD operational directives and guidance. You will provide technical guidance and instruction to other IT specialists assigned to support technology services to include Windows, Cisco, Linux, HBSS and ACAS systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrating verifiable expertise in network or system virtualization architecture, security architecture, and threat intelligence to provide leadership in technology modernization initiatives.
