Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Senior Manager of Accounting for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.
This assignment is anticipated to be a 3 month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.
This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze consolidated monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key account details, providing insights into trends and variances.
- Oversee regional consolidation for multiple entities and resolve related issues.
- Review and approve top-side journal entries and ensure accurate reporting in financial systems.
- Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements (10-Q and 10-K).
- Document accounting analyses and conclusions for complex matters in quarterly memos.
- Research technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses for customer proposals and reporting needs.
- Assist with external audit activities and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure processes.
- Supervise and mentor senior-level accounting staff.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including multi-entity consolidations and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables).
- Experience with reporting tools such as HFM and Power BI.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and lead direct reports effectively.
- Public accounting experience in audit or advisory roles.
- Technical accounting expertise, including researching and applying new standards.
- Experience in logistics or transportation industry.
