Summary

Flowserve seeks an AI Software Engineer with expertise in large language models, agentic AI frameworks, and business analysis to build and optimize AI-driven business applications in an Azure-only environment. The role connects technical development and business needs, translating stakeholder requirements into scalable AI solutions that emphasize Microsoft Semantic Kernel for orchestration and extensive use of the Microsoft Graph API. End-to-end responsibilities include designing, deploying, and monitoring AI solutions with Azure AI Foundry, applying Model Context Protocol (MCP) patterns and SDLC best practices to deliver measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Conduct business analysis to identify requirements, pain points, and high-value AI opportunities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams-from data engineering to product management-to convert business needs into innovative AI solutions.

• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack AI applications using React, Angular, Svelte, TypeScript, Node.js/Express, and Python (FastAPI).

• Extract, process, and integrate data from ERP systems and other IT platforms.

• Implement and maintain API integrations and data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and optimal performance through continuous monitoring.

• Develop and maintain model-evaluation frameworks and performance-monitoring systems.

• Lead Microsoft Graph API integrations, including app registrations, permissions, change notifications, delta queries, and data access across Mail, Calendar, Files/SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, and Users/Groups.

• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and risk-mitigation strategies for AI implementations.

• Collaborate on KPI maturity roadmaps and business analysis to support strategic planning.

• Ensure compliance with company standards, technical specifications, and responsible-AI practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience developing front-end applications using React, Angular, or Svelte with strong TypeScript and modern UI design.

• Hands-on proficiency in back-end development with Node.js, Express, and Python (FastAPI), including secure REST API design and integration.

• Demonstrated capability in AI orchestration using frameworks such as Microsoft Semantic Kernel or LangChain, including prompt engineering, token optimization, and response evaluation.

• Practical knowledge of Azure-only cloud environments, including Azure App Service, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure DevOps (YAML) for deployment automation.

• Experience implementing monitoring and observability with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics (KQL), and OpenTelemetry.

• Working understanding of security and governance in Azure such as Entra ID app registrations, Managed Identities, RBAC, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy.

• Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL (pgvector), Azure SQL Database, or Cosmos DB, and familiarity with vector-database concepts for AI applications.

• Competence using development tools including VS Code, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Prisma while following SDLC best practices.

• Three to five years of relevant experience in software development and AI or machine learning applications.

• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field (advanced degrees or equivalent experience a plus).

• Links to Git repositories and deployed solutions are strongly preferred.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with data engineering and analytics platforms.

• Experience in industrial manufacturing or a similar domain.

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
