About the Role
The Construction Project Manager plays a critical role in planning, budgeting, designing, and constructing Town facilities, including expansion, renovation, and new construction of fire stations, recreation centers, libraries, and other municipal buildings. This position manages capital improvement projects, ensures regulatory compliance, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, and serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects.

This role requires an experienced, detail-oriented professional who can balance multiple projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage design and construction projects for Town facilities improvements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with design entities, team members, and Town staff.
  • Review projects for regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure accuracy of pay applications.
  • Develop project schedules and milestones.
  • Manage and create RFPs, RFQs, bid documents, records, pay applications, construction documents, project manuals, and other related documentation.
  • Supervise and participate in project planning.
  • Meet and collaborate with various department representatives.
  • Deliver reports, contract requests, and other project-related items to stakeholders.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Graduation from high school, technical school, or possession of a GED.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in construction, design, or project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred.
Special Requirements
  • Valid NC Class C Driver's License.
