This position is for an experienced Machine Program Specialist role to join a growing aerospace team with L&T Technology Services (LTTS). As an important part of the Mechanical team here at LTTS, you will actively be providing critical value to our customers by helping to ensure high quality and accurate data is made available to the customers' engineering team to meet operational goals.
This role will work with the LTTS team and our major aerospace customer to identify and create a standardized process for Commercial Service Contracting with the U.S Government and airline operators. The successful candidate will be an expert in engineering-related measurements and practices. The successful candidate will have a diverse skillset and leverage capabilities to program multiple types of advanced equipment. Duties include machine programming, interpreting data and researching the science of measuring to better lab processes/accuracy. Collaborating with the customer and with third party machine suppliers and operators. Train on how to operate machines, including writing operating procedures. Maintain Standard Work documents.
This is an on-site position and will require working in our customers' facilities located in Irving, TX.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Support the Team Lead by developing, validating, executing, and maintaining metrology equipment.
• Program metrology equipment to perform data collection per customer requirements.
• Work with customer stakeholders and operators to develop and maintain standards and practices with regards to part set-up, fixturing, and measuring techniques.
• Serve as a technical resource on automated metrology machine issues, troubleshooting, and training.
• Use standard inspection tools to verify parts meet print or technical manual specifications (calipers, height gages, optical comparators, etc.)
• Execute statistically based sampling plans for inspections and validations.
• Support validations for new and existing processes, and equipment.
• Participate in FAA inspections, ISO Certification and surveillance audits and customer audits.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) along with blueprint reading skills
• Knowledge of Control of Nonconforming Product process activities (e.g., NCMR generation, investigation, MRB review/approval, quarantine cage material control).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience in a related technical field in lieu of formal education.
• Five years of progressive experience related to precision manufacturing and inspection.
