Join the Optum Behavioral Care team as a Licensed Behavioral Health Advocate. Be a vital part of our mission to enhance healthcare for everyone as you make meaningful impacts on the lives of our members in Kansas.

As a Behavioral Health Care Advocate, you will specialize in case management and care coordination for members on the SED and Autism Waivers. Your expertise will guide members through their entire treatment journey, ensuring they receive the right level of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments to determine suitable levels of care
• Gather information from providers regarding outpatient treatment requests
• Assess the need for additional clinical treatment sessions
• Manage mental health cases during both inpatient and outpatient phases of treatment
• Review treatment plans and administer benefits
• Facilitate transitions in care and coordinate benefits
• Enhance treatment plans by consulting with facility staff or outpatient providers
• Create and monitor the implementation of Person-Centered Service Plans
• Collaborate with Community Mental Health Centers to ensure comprehensive service delivery

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling; or a licensed Ph.D. or Registered Nurse (with a Bachelor's degree) with 2+ years experience in behavioral health
• Active, unrestricted license in Kansas: LP, LPC, LCP, LCPC, LMSW, LSCSW, LMFT, LCMFT, or RN (with a BSN)
• 2+ years of post-license experience in related mental health settings
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Reliable access to secure, high-speed Internet (Broadband Cable, DSL, or Fiber) and a dedicated workspace at home
• Reside in Kansas and possess reliable transportation to travel within the service delivery area as needed (up to 50%)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with dual diagnosis in mental health and substance abuse
• Familiarity with coordinating benefits and resources for patients
• Experience with the Medicaid population
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and their families

Pay scales are determined by various factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase options, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility requirements. The annual salary for this role ranges from $58,800 to $105,000 based on full-time employment.
