The Technical Integration Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the seamless integration of various technical components involved in Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development and Construction Document production packages, including but not limited to Audio/Visual, Lighting, SAE, SFX, Ride Hardware and Interactives. This position is responsible for managing the development of the technical design intent while working closely with internal creative teams with the goal of translating the intent to various external vendors and clients. The Technical Integration Manager will lead the development of attractions and interactives, while working with the Technical Director to strategize and promote internal process and communication improvements. They will develop these technical systems with constructability and feasibility in mind, as well as knowledge of how they integrate within the facility and other technical disciplines. They should be comfortable utilizing AutoCAD, as well as 3D modeling software such as Rhino and Revit, but should possess the ability and desire to learn new design software and tools.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direct support under the Technical Director and in collaboration with the Technical Design Team to create technical drafting and packages for use as compliance and installation documents for design projects.
- Ideate and provide solution-oriented input on potential methodologies, effects, and integration techniques and systems to achieve the creative vision.
- Work with various disciplines to integrate A/V, lighting, show action, and special effects elements into design packages.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments, including Creative, Narrative, and Architecture Teams, to align the development of Attractions and Interactives utilizing knowledge of ride systems and technical hardware.
- Manage communications with external vendors and clients, including holding meetings and developing presentations.
- Work closely with the Technical Director to set priorities for the team and action plans for continued development.
- Responsible for conceiving, iterating on, and defining the technical show/ride, interactive experience(s), and development of design documentation.
- Produce accurate technical drawings, details, install packages, as-builts, rough construction details, etc. for internal, and outsourcing to contractors/vendors.
- Review and redline technical drawings for client approval.
- Coordinate design documentation from contractors/vendors with an emphasis on checking for compliance with contractual requirements and specifications.
- Coordinate close-out packages, maintenance manuals, as-builts, and revisions.
- Must have or be able to quickly acquire knowledge of company structure (mission, goals, and objectives), and policies and procedures.
- Must have a bachelor's degree or comparable experience, with at least 5 years of experience working as a Technical Designer or Manager.
- Must possess practical knowledge in business management as well as expertise in AutoCAD drawings, technical design documentation, integration or installation, and engineering specifications and procedures.
- Must understand equipment/systems available on the market, as well as any additional equipment required to support those systems.
- Must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability, team oriented, an aptitude for reading and writing technical documents, proficiency in computer hardware and programs related to engineering, design, documentation, and presentation.
- Must be able to assist with project tracking as it pertains to changes in equipment and quantities throughout the extent of a project.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must possess the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must also be analytical, organized, and detail oriented.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
