We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in commercial, residential, or industrial mechanical systems and equipment design. This remote position allows for a flexible work environment, but some travel (local or regional) will be required. We prefer candidates residing in the greater St. Louis area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations and failure analysis of mechanical systems and components.
  • Evaluate causes of mechanical failures, gas-related fires, explosions, product liability, construction or design defects, and other relevant issues.
  • Inspect loss scenes in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Analyze damage evidence due to failures and determine the origin of failure for supporting insurers and litigation.
  • Document and report findings from failure analyses and tests conducted in the lab.
  • Collaborate with various experts to produce detailed reports outlining the origin and cause of damages.
  • Provide expert witness testimony when required.
  • Document billable hours accurately for engineering consulting services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required; multi-state licensing and/or NCEES Record preferred.
  • Experience as an expert witness is a plus.
