ABOUT THE ROLE: Join our team as a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, where you will leverage your expertise in React.js to create engaging, scalable user interfaces for our platforms. As a key player, you will lead frontend development initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver top-notch solutions that align with business objectives.

This role emphasizes frontend engineering, ensuring that you will build responsive and accessible user experiences while integrating with APIs effectively. Your technical leadership will help drive our mission to provide high-quality, seamless digital experiences in the Media & Entertainment industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead frontend development projects, focusing on scalability and performance.
  • Create and style interfaces using Material UI, Tailwind CSS, or similar libraries according to design specifications.
  • Implement state management approaches (e.g., Redux, Recoil) for maintainable code.
  • Integrate with REST, GraphQL, and WebSocket APIs, contributing to their testing and validation.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding efficiency and quality.
  • Champion design patterns such as Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) where applicable.
  • Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Work with engineering partners to confirm that solutions meet both product and technical requirements.
  • Design and validate responsive user experiences in production environments.
  • Coordinate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless cloud deployments, especially in AWS environments.
  • Implement security best practices for frontend applications, safeguarding against vulnerabilities.
  • Set up monitoring and logging for frontend applications to ensure reliability.
  • Engage with DevOps teams to enhance observability for frontend performance.
  • Ensure unit test coverage for frontend components and mentor junior engineers on testing practices.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Guide junior developers in code structure and accessibility best practices.
  • Contribute to the hiring process to help build the engineering team.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years in frontend development with expertise in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Experienced in REST API consumption and performance tuning.
  • Proficient in building responsive and accessible UI designs.
  • Hands-on experience with Material UI, Tailwind CSS, or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AWS, especially with CDNs like CloudFront.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and containerization.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted coding tools for enhancing productivity.
  • Understanding of frontend security best practices.
  • Strong grasp of Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Experience with frontend monitoring tools like Sentry or Datadog.
  • Familiar with modern module bundlers like Webpack or Vite.
  • Skilled in writing unit and integration tests and guiding others in testing practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement emerging AI tools.
  • Knowledge of media pipeline workflows.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning tools.
  • Exposure to full-stack development with .NET Core is a bonus.
  • Experience in the media & entertainment sector is advantageous.
