JOB SUMMARY-Interventional Cardiology

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Interventional Cardiology team. This role focuses on inpatient rounding and collaborative care for patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS), myocardial infarction (MI)/shock, structural heart disease, and those requiring mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The APP will be integral to the development and operation of our ACS program, working within a heart-team model alongside interventional cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons.

RESPONSIBILITIES-Interventional Cardiology

• Round on inpatient interventional cardiology service, including ACS and structural heart patient

• Deliver advanced care to ACS patients, including rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment

• Develop and implement protocols for ACS, MI/shock, and MCS management

• Coordinate care with cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical team

• Collaborate with quality improvement teams to support registry maintenance and quality initiative

• Participate in research and publication efforts related to ACS and structural heart disease

• Educate patients, families, and healthcare providers on ACS and structural heart disease management

• Stay current with best practices, guidelines, and emerging trends in interventional cardiology

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise utilizing evidence and theory-based practice, infection control standards and clinical evaluations in providing care to clients in clinic or hospital-based settings, as evidenced by following established protocols.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic

• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution abilities.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.

Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care board certification required for APRNs.

National certification is required for PAs.

Extremely motivated new graduates may be considered for a position in our APP fellowship program to support their transition to practice.
