  • Collaborate with engineering personnel to identify and resolve design or implementation issues.
  • Coordinate the integration of design components with multi-disciplinary teams for site-specific modifications and new constructions.
  • Prepare AutoCAD construction drawings, site-specific specifications, contract documents, and independent cost estimates.
  • Manage project-related tasks and communicate essential information, including safety plans and work sequences.
  • Generate and manage Integrated Risk Management Checklists (IRMC), communication plans, and project risk registers to comply with Operational Risk Management (ORM) requirements.
  • Oversee the completion of necessary Work Permits related to lead and asbestos impacts during construction.
  • Lead and participate in meetings, including pre-construction and on-site coordination with stakeholders for ongoing projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction activities to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Manage and support on-site cutovers, testing, and facility restorations.
  • Maintain project documentation, providing regular updates to the team and stakeholders.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful and timely completion.
  • Review contractor design and construction submittals, providing technical support throughout all project phases.
  • Facilitate internal design reviews for FAA engineering projects.
  • Track closure of Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) for all projects, offering resolutions for engineering-related items.
  • Evaluate project deliverables and communicate findings effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Respond timely to project RFIs (Requests for Information) and related submittals.
  • Monitor ongoing project progress and stakeholder requirements.
  • Independently apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, showcasing judgment in modifications and adaptations to engineering designs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in foundation design and industrial structural systems (steel and concrete) related to commercial, industrial, and/or government facilities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of building structural codes necessary for performing structural design calculations and engineering assessments.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering scheduling tools.
  • Expertise with AutoCAD / MicroStation design software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and collaboratively coordinate with project stakeholders at various levels.
  • Maintenance of an organized electronic project folder related to site preparation and equipment installation.
  • Eligibility to obtain an FAA Public Trust designation, requiring US citizenship or Green Card status with residency in the US for the last 3 years.
  • Successful completion of a drug test prior to starting employment with Leidos.
