Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Full-time
Hourly Rate: $18 to $20 per hour.
About the Role:We're looking for a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to help keep our YOS properties clean, safe, and functioning smoothly. You'll work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to handle day-to-day maintenance tasks, repairs, and safety checks.
What You'll Do:Perform basic manual labor, including:
- Trash removal
- Restocking, cleaning, and bathroom supplies
- Light landscaping
- Basic furniture repairs
- Complete monthly safety inspections at our outpost offices
- Deliver internal mail twice a week to various locations
- Support emergency maintenance requests when needed (on-call support)
- Work safely and monitor any contractor work on our properties
- Assist with special projects and other maintenance duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- Some experience in maintenance or general labor preferred
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including in wet or humid conditions
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and general maintenance tools
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable working around diverse teams and communities.
Additional Info:
- This role involves physical work: standing, lifting, bending, and working in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to work near machinery and handle tools safely.
- May occasionally work in high places or around fumes/dust.
