Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional health.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
- Provide education to patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Emergency Response
- Triage patients effectively to prioritize care based on the severity of illness or injury.
- Assist in resuscitation, stabilization, and advanced life support procedures during emergencies.
- Operate and maintain emergency equipment, including defibrillators, monitors, and ventilators.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care.
- Communicate patient status, changes, and care plans clearly to team members and families.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and case discussions.
- Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to established protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Professional Development
- Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with best practices.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and emergency department performance metrics.
