Junior Field Service Technician- Land

Entry level Field Service Engineers are responsible for providing on-site support to customers under the guidance of experienced engineers. In this role, they will receive training, work under the supervision of experienced Field Service Engineers, and gain hands-on experience with the equipment and machinery they will be servicing. As the face of the company during on-site visits they will help to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting, while exhibiting the highest standards of Geospace's Core Values. These tasks can include leaning to install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment or systems to board level.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• On-site Support: Travel to remote customer locations to learn to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment or systems. Field Service Engineers are responsible for becoming a specialist on all equipment assigned to them as a customer support person. Ability to live and work in a remote location for up to six weeks at a time.
• Off-site Support: Be available to assist Field Service Engineers to perform weekend and after-hours support via telephone, email or other applications. This can be done either at Geospace facilities or from home.
• Basic Troubleshooting: Learn to identify and address common issues, following established procedures and protocols.
• Preventive Maintenance: Learn to conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Customer Training: Learn to provide basic training to customers on equipment usage and troubleshooting.
• Documentation: Learn to document service visits, issues, and solutions in detailed reports.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering and other support teams to improve products and services.May be required to work with other engineers, technicians, and sales teams.
• Testing: Provide feedback to engineers about software and hardware testing to improve equipment functionality while maintaining reliability.
• Safety: Adhere to Geospace and customer safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment.
• Time Management and organization: To effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision, individuals should cultivate self-motivation and the ability to take initiative.
• Communication: Should be able to communicate effectively with customers of diverse nationalities and experiences.
• Learning & Development: Continuously learn about new products, technologies, and procedures.Learn to maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.

• The ability to live and work in or out of a hotel, in cramped quarters in a remote location such as a camp for up to 6 weeks at a time.
• The ability to travel multiple days to reach a deployment location.
• Must be able to work outdoors in heat or cold, dry, or wet conditions.
• May be required sit for extended periods of time at a computer desk or workbench in an enclosed space.
• Must be able to lift, carry and climb with loads up to 50 pounds, ability to work in rough terrain.
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identity Card).

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, BS EET, AS EET equivalent or military training knowledge of electronics, some knowledge of Seismic Survey Systems required.
• Must have an unrestricted passport, experience in foreign travel, and be able to travel to all continents.
• Must be able to work for any employer within the U.S.A. without requiring sponsorship or have restrictions.
• Demonstrate an understanding of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer skills.
• Demonstrate an understanding of computer networking and RAID management.
• Exposure to QA/QC workflows or data acquisition systems.
