Job Description

We are seeking skilled welders to work on Flux Core Welding of Mild Steel for barge construction. The role requires proficiency in MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints. You will work collaboratively as part of a team under the guidance of a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel to construct barges.

• Utilize MIG and TIG welding techniques effectively.

• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met.

• Work under the supervision of a team leader to ensure quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Experience with welding fabrication.

• Knowledge of working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and structural steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous welding experience of 3-6 months is required.

• Ability to pass a weld test (1-5F) during the interview process.

• Any previous welding experience is considered beneficial.

Work Environment

The role is based in an outdoor environment, which can be very hot. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, including wearing steel-toed, ankle-high leather boots, no contact lenses due to welding smoke, and long sleeves and pants. The work schedule includes two shifts: 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 3:15 PM to 12:45 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.30/hr.
