Position Purpose:
As a key player in the country's food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that products arrive at customer locations on time and in excellent condition. You will represent our company, building lasting relationships with customers while fulfilling a critical role in food service delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Professionally communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
- Work as a team member to fulfill company needs and support your department.
- Conduct required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of the truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; address any issues found.
- Immediately report safety concerns and ensure that all freight is loaded and secured properly.
- Complete required documentation accurately regarding freight operations.
- Deliver customer orders following a predetermined route and schedule.
- Unload products at customer locations and verify delivery with proper signatures.
- Handle cash or checks where required and manage customer returns appropriately.
- Complete daily logs in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the truck and loading dock area.
- Secure all equipment and paperwork at the end of each shift.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
6+ months commercial driving experience
High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent
Valid CDL A
Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Must be 21 years of age
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass road test
Valid current DOT Health Card or able to obtain a new one
Able to hand-lift and use equipment to move/stack product cases weighing between 10-90 pounds as necessary.
