Acara Solution is looking for a CWL Advanced Systems Engineer for our client located in Manassas, VA. This is an onsite long-term contract position with an hourly pay rate of $60.56.
This position requires a current Secret security clearance (or it has been active within the past 2 years).
Here's what you'd do:
- As a systems engineer for CWL ( Common Weapon Launcher - submarine), you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the system engineering and functional design of the system under development, addressing topics such as payload integration, weapon launch interlocks, weapon simulation, message exchanges, user interfaces, and cybersecurity.
- As a member of the system engineering team, the candidate will help ensure that functional and technical specifications and standards are complete and accurate, delivered as needed to support customer review and approval, and to facilitate system development and testing.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5 years of experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a systems engineering role, preferably defense-related
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with computer system architectures, cybersecurity, Linux, or embedded operating systems
- Min 1 year of experience with DOORS
- Active Secret clearance (within the past 2 years)
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3 years of experience
- Agile experience
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
- Clear understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools
- Creative thinker with the ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
