We are in search of a software developer who excels at crafting robust code to analyze customer telemetry, especially regarding geospatial data. You will design scalable, low-latency APIs and reliable data pipelines that deliver essential insights to both customers and our business. The perfect candidate will bring a positive attitude, collaboration skills, and a deep commitment to tackling complex challenges in creative ways. Here, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop new features and enhance existing systems. Our small team is spread across Eastern North America and Berlin, and we start our day no later than 9 AM ET. Ideal candidates should operate within Eastern, Atlantic, or Newfoundland time zones.

This is a full-time remote position based in Canada. If you are near one of our offices, you are expected to work from the office three days a week.

• Design, implement, and enhance a newly created event-driven architecture for optimal performance and flexibility.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to customer telemetry and reporting.
• Create and manage high-performance data processing pipelines that efficiently process large data volumes.
• Develop, document, and maintain APIs that provide actionable insights from customer telemetry, facilitating data-driven decisions and improving customer experience through real-time and historical analytics.
• Explore and adopt open-source tools that meet new data engineering requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and integrate team feedback to improve code quality.
• Write and enhance automated tests to ensure code accuracy and reliability.

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in discussing, planning, and implementing projects using Python and Golang.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI and REST code generation.
• Knowledge of relational databases, particularly BigQuery and Timescale.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in cross-functional teams that prioritize customer needs.
• Willingness to be adaptable and open to mentorship.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and source control tools (GitHub, GitLab).
• Experience with public cloud architectures and services, such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS.

• Experience with Airflow, Spark, or other data engineering tools.
• Knowledge of spatial data formats, including large GeoJSON files and web tile structures.
• Experience with event-driven systems like Pub/Sub and Kafka.
• Proficiency in building scalable and maintainable backend services and infrastructure.
• Experience in SQL-based ETL development, data warehousing pipeline development, and optimization with large datasets.
• Experience in planning and executing automated end-to-end tests across data pipelines, APIs, and web applications.
