Responsibilities

Franklin Woods Center is beautifully set on 10 partially wooded landscaped acres in a suburban residential area of eastern Baltimore County, Maryland. The facility provides Short-Stay Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care, as well as Hospice and Respite Care. Our commitment to quality care was nationally recognized by US News and World Report in 2024 where we were named a Best Nursing Home Long-Term Care.

Join our winning team as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist where you will perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents. In addition, the Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist assists professional nursing staff by performing in a leadership role for the CNA staff and performing assigned routine duties in caring for residents. He/she is supervised by a professionally trained nurse.

Position Highlights

1. Handles and serves residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, adhering to instructions issued by the nursing supervisor and or charge nurse to establish shift routines.

2. Assumes responsibility for varied resident care duties as assigned by charge nurse to include admitting, discharging, transferring and caring for the resident's personal belongings and assisting the professional nurse in performing resident treatments.

3. Bathes the resident in bed, tub or shower; combs hair, cleans and cuts fingernails and shampoos hair.

4. Positions residents in correct body alignment in and out of bed and applies safety measures under the direction of the charge nurse.

5. Assists the residents in and out of bed, in walking and transporting residents throughout the nursing center via wheelchair, geri-chair or stretcher.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred for this position.

2. It is mandatory that the candidate is able to read, write and understand the English language. The candidate must also be a graduate of the Genesis Nursing Assistant Specialist program. Attends all mandatory programs and pursues other learning opportunities related to work assignments

3. A Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist must have successfully completed a state approved certified nursing assistant program.

Posted Salary Range

USD $17.75 - USD $20.75 /Hr.
