Compensation: $38.00-$45.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Day and Night Shifts Available (Shift differential premium of 15% is available for night shift employees)
A leading structural steel fabrication shop is seeking experienced Shop Foremen to lead welders and fitters in a high-volume, precision-driven environment. These are hands-on supervisory roles responsible for managing workflow, enforcing safety, and ensuring that fabrication meets schedule and quality standards.
Ideal candidates will have strong shop leadership experience, a solid structural steel background, and the ability to keep operations running smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate fitters, welders, and other fabrication personnel
- Assign daily work based on project schedules and production priorities
- Interpret blueprints, job orders, and fabrication specs
- Monitor craftsmanship and enforce code compliance and quality standards
- Collaborate with QA, project management, and other shop leads
- Adjust work sequences to meet production targets and resolve bottlenecks
- Track time, productivity, and progress toward budgeted labor goals
- Promote a positive and respectful team culture while upholding safety standards
- Support training and mentoring of junior team members
- Prior supervisory experience in a structural steel fabrication shop
- Strong working knowledge of code standards, fabrication specs, and metal properties
- Ability to interpret and troubleshoot fabrication drawings
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced production environment
- Comfortable leading safety meetings and enforcing protocols
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
