Ready to make an impact? Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is a top-tier hospital dedicated to innovative care. As a Surgical Technologist, your role is vital in ensuring the best outcomes for patients through your meticulous attention to detail in the Operating Room.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shifts, with 8 or 10-hour schedules, Monday through Friday, including overnight call and occasional weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe operating environment while utilizing aseptic techniques.
  • Prepare and manage surgical materials, supplies, and equipment for various procedures.
  • Ensure proper setup of operating rooms for each case, including equipment handling and room readiness.
  • Assist as a Second Assistant during surgeries as needed.
  • Address any equipment or supply issues promptly.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as required.
  • Maintain the specialty cart's integrity, ensuring all items are available and in working condition.
  • Demonstrate age-appropriate patient care by understanding development principles and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (must be obtained within 6 months).
  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
  • No prior experience is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedure setups.
  • Comfortable using various operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., carry up to 40 lbs., and perform sliding transfers of 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and meet other physical demands.
  • Exposure to various hazards such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks and gloves.
