We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Respiratory Therapy Director to join our team at Woodbine Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Alexandria, Virginia. As a Respiratory Therapy Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Respiratory Therapy Department, ensuring the highest level of patient care and quality outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures, and ensure adherence to established protocols.
- Manage and supervise a team of respiratory therapists, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure optimal patient care and staff development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Conduct quality assessments and evaluations of patient care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
- Participate in facility-wide quality improvement initiatives and committees.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Stay current with industry developments and advancements in respiratory therapy, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and departmental operations.
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Virginia.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role in a respiratory therapy department.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, practices, and modalities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
