Position Summary

The Sonographer II is responsible for using ultrasound technology to diagnose and treat medical conditions. This role requires expertise in various specialties including cardiovascular, GI, GU, and GYN conditions.

Essential Functions

  • Operate ultrasound equipment efficiently using advanced techniques for optimal imaging.
  • Ensure image quality by adhering to established standards and identifying diagnostic quality scans.
  • Maintain rapport with patients, recognizing and fulfilling their service needs.
  • Ensure equipment functionality through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manage ultrasound supply inventory efficiently.
  • Stay updated on legal and professional requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Enhance personal and professional knowledge continuously.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Prepare patients effectively for ultrasound procedures.
  • Ensure infection control policies are followed to protect patients and staff.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results.
  • Respond to orders for examinations from licensed practitioners.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Registered by ARDMS or ARRT (S).
  • Current BCLS certification.

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Graduate.
  • Graduate from an accredited Sonography program.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and positioning;
  • Effective communication and listening skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound in multiple specialties.
  • Extensive knowledge of ultrasound equipment and quality control.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Thorough understanding of ultrasound techniques in neurology, abdominal, obstetric, and gynecologic applications.
