JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State is hiring a part-time web developer to support a recently funded NSF project through website design, development, and maintenance. The hired individual will work with the project team to test, debug, and troubleshoot applications; and ensure the rigorous application of accessibility policies, principles, and practices.This will be a remote/ hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, debug, modify, and/or support website
- Work with users to analyze their requirements; participate in project planning efforts
- Provide end-user consultation, functional support, training, documentation, and guidance
- Investigate application and website issues; perform root cause analysis, take corrective actions
- Monitor applications and websites for quality standards; ensure University standards, accessibility requirements, coding practices, and security are being adhered to
- Develop application and website components, features, modules, and templates
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with GitHub and basic version control practices
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest or experience in accessibility and UI/UX improvements
- Strong written communication and organizational skill
Pay Rate:
$15-$25/hour (based on experience). Weekly hours are flexible and will be set in coordination with the selected individual's availability.
