Work Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 PM - 8:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).

  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with DOT regulations.

  • Mentor junior maintenance staff.

  • Receive road calls, coordinate with external vendors, and collaborate with business partners for effective solutions.

  • Document repairs and parts usage using fleet maintenance software.

  • Ensure a tidy and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment:

  • This position is onsite at the US Foods maintenance facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of proven experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.

  • Ability to diagnose issues using fleet maintenance software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must provide own hand tools.

  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations related to shop and fleet safety.

  • Capability to interpret technical manuals.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic setting with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient computer skills.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications/Training:

  • Brake certification.

Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with JPRO software.

  • Welding skills.

  • Familiarity with electrical schematics.

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Leadership experience.

  • Valid Class A CDL and DOT certification.

  • EPA 608 certification (Type 2 or Universal).
