Primary Healthcare Centers is seeking a detail-oriented EMR Training Assistant to support our EMR Support Specialist/Trainer in providing high-quality training and system assistance across our clinical and administrative departments. This role plays a key part in ensuring staff are confident and competent in using our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
The EMR Training Assistant will assist with training development, technical support, workflow optimization, onboarding, and documentation needs. This position requires strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to train staff with varying levels of computer and EMR proficiency. Regular travel to our clinic locations is required.
Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering EMR training sessions for staff.
- Provide one-on-one and group support for documentation, workflow questions, and system navigation.
- Help administer and document basic computer skills competency exams.
- Support staff and managers in understanding EMR policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Assist with updating EMR templates, forms, and workflows under the direction of the EMR Specialist and CMO.
- Create and update EMR user accounts, access levels, and system roles.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Support EMR training during new employee orientation in collaboration with HR.
- Travel to clinic sites to offer onsite support and training.
- Maintain training records and documentation within the Employee Training & Policy Acknowledgment Platform.
- Participate in staff meetings, committees, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with monitoring training projects and following up to ensure successful outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and positive working relationships across all departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements include:
- High proficiency with EMR software or a strong clinical background with advanced computer aptitude.
- Experience supporting providers, nurses, and administrative staff in a healthcare setting.
- Strong ability to train others, provide excellent customer service, and communicate clearly.
- Solid knowledge of Windows-based systems and basic IT functions.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required
- EMR system experience required
- Knowledge of front office/medical clinic workflows required
Compensation: $19.00 - $23.50 per hour
