Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shift, with either 8 or 10-hour shifts. Weekday shifts with on-call requirements predominantly overnight (5-8 slots) and weekends (1-2 slots) within an 8-week scheduling framework. Call hours may vary based on staffing needs, with a requirement to arrive within 30 minutes.

As part of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal care in the Operating Room. Your attention to detail and adaptability will make a significant difference every day.

Major Responsibilities:

• Keep the surgical area clean and safe, employing aseptic techniques to prepare necessary materials and supplies.
• Assist with a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining an understanding of essential techniques.
• Set up and disinfect the operating room for each procedure while managing various surgical equipment.
• Act as a Second Assistant during surgeries as needed.
• Transport patients and assist in ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Stay knowledgeable about age-specific patient care needs to ensure appropriate practices.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association within 6 months if required by department leadership.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
• No prior experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of surgical asepsis and equipment use in the operating room environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to handle the fast-paced operating room environment effectively.
• Capabilities include lifting weights, pushing, pulling, and transferring patients as needed.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and gowns and endure exposure to various hazards.
