Join Our Team as a Custodial Technician I We are looking for dedicated individuals who take pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our guests. As a Custodial Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in our hotel’s operations, ensuring all areas are spotless and well-maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks efficiently and report task completion to your supervisor.
- Clean high areas including ceilings, vents, and light fixtures effectively using ladders and mechanical lifts.
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks such as drapes, upholstered areas, windows, elevators, and carpets according to departmental standards.
- Set up and carry out preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment while reporting any issues to management.
- Learn to operate and maintain all cleaning equipment safely.
- Keep working and storage areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Take responsibility for the annual deep cleaning of guestrooms.
- Engage in seasonal deep cleaning of hotel rooms and common areas, focusing on heavy-duty cleaning tasks.
- Maintain clear and effective communication within the team.
- Demonstrate proficiency with cleaning equipment and agents.
- Assist colleagues with laundry duties and room cleaning as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Preferred: Previous janitorial experience.
Required Skills:
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Quick learner regarding chemical and equipment usage.
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
Required Abilities:
- Work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
- Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Interact courteously with guests and team members.
- Communicate clearly using a two-way radio.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
- Good sense of balance with the ability to bend, kneel, and stoop.
- Reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand motions regularly.
- Independently lift up to 25 pounds consistently.
- Maintain good eye-hand coordination.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work involves exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, and extreme heat, primarily in the laundry area.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.
