Lead Software Engineer

Join our dynamic team as a Lead Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in enhancing our robust Quote Engine – a vital system that powers our quoting and pricing operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to design and implement production code that is reliable, performant, and maintainable. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain critical components of the Quote Engine in production.
  • Develop scalable, concurrent, and resilient services utilizing modern design patterns.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Vendor Management) to deliver features aligned with our business objectives.
  • Implement event-driven and queue-based architectures with an emphasis on durability and fault tolerance.
  • Contribute to operational excellence by creating observable, maintainable, and secure systems.
  • Engage in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality releases.

Must-Have Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining features across backend (PHP, Python, or Go) and frontend (React) with a balanced expertise.
  • Proven track record of building highly scalable, concurrent systems.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Multithreaded architectures, concurrency primitives, and non-blocking I/O.
    • Distributed systems design (including CAP trade-offs and consistency models).
    • Event-driven architectures and microservices (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, Service Bus).
    • Fault tolerance techniques, back-pressure strategies, and circuit breakers.
  • Familiarity with Azure (preferred) or other cloud platforms including serverless orchestration.
  • Solid knowledge of authentication and security standards (OAuth 2.0, mTLS, secrets management).
