Equity L/S Risk Analyst

A leading multi-strategy hedge fund is hiring a Risk Analyst to join in their NYC Headquarters and cover the growing Long/Short Equity Business.
This multi-billion dollar fund has 10+ years of track record, and the Fundamental Equity business is a major growth area over the past 3 years - they are continuing to expand in the front office, hiring PMs and Analysts. Risk management is a value add function in this front office setting - it's a collaborative and interactive culture across the entire business. This hire will partner directly with PMs on a daily basis.
The Chief Risk Officer is bringing on this Risk Analyst to work with the Head of L/S Equity in New York. Ideally they want this hire to develop custom risk analytics, perform factor research and develop custom factor risk models, and advise PMs on factor aware portfolio construction. Part of this mandate is developing custom hedging baskets and strategies for specific PMs as well.
As the business continues to grow, there will be increased center book responsibility, working with senior leadership to enhance alpha capture strategies and firmwide risk and performance analytics.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience at a hedge fund, asset manager (or bank asset manager), or risk model vendor
- Prior experience covering Equity Long/Short or Market-Neutral strategies
- Expertise developing + enhancing equity risk factor models, performing factor research, and utilizing models to explain exposure and portfolio construction recommendations
- Familiarity with vendor models such as Barra + Axioma; proprietary/custom model development preferred
- Proficiency in Python/SQL
