A Vehicle Body Repair Technician is responsible for restoring damaged vehicle body parts to their pre-accident condition, adhering to factory and dealership specifications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review repair orders and estimator notes to fully understand the necessary repairs before starting work on vehicles.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed according to the specifications outlined in the repair order or supplement.
  • Apply manufacturer and technical repair knowledge to effectively execute repairs.
  • Utilize frame and measuring equipment according to vendor procedures.
  • Conduct initial teardown of vehicles to assess the extent of damage.
  • Identify parts required for repair, including cut-ins and edging.
  • Perform repairs following factory specifications and company policies, adhering to I-Car standards.
  • Conduct quality checks before sending vehicles to the paint department.
  • Reassemble painted vehicles and parts, ensuring all components are secured.
  • Complete final quality checks and review work orders before delivering the vehicle to the detail department.
  • Assist and mentor apprentice or junior technicians in developing their repair skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a body shop.
  • ICAR Welding Certificate.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Compensation:

Minimum Pay Rate: USD $22.00/Hr.

Maximum Pay Rate: USD $30.00/Hr.
