Key Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Care: As an NP/PA, conduct assessments, triage, and manage therapeutic needs. Liaise with supervising physicians, perform evaluations, order diagnostic tests, and create treatment plans while adhering to clinical guidelines.
  2. Patient Education & Support: Provide education on patient care and resources to patients and their families, collaborating closely with the medical team.
  3. Information Management: Maintain precise documentation in line with hospital regulations and safeguard all patient information.
  4. Quality Management: Uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  5. Professional Development: Engage in continuous education and competency projects, serve as a mentor to healthcare students, and contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.

Experience: While clinical experience as a NP/PA is preferred, it is not required. All candidates need to be credentialed through the Medical Staff process and provide evidence of competency as required.

Licensure: Hold a current PA Certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants or a Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, along with ACLS/BLS certification. Additional certifications may be necessary based on the specialty.
