Field Service Engineer II

Spend your days traveling (in a provided company vehicle) to hospitals and laboratories throughout the Kansas City region, providing critical assistance and support to customers who are working to advance the future of healthcare
As a Field Service Engineer for our Global Commercial Operations Group, you will perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics instruments, ensuring the reliable performance of our equipment for those who depend on it. You will also respond to emergencies and occasionally assist colleagues in surrounding states on short notice, applying your in-depth knowledge of our products to advocate for customers and deliver the highest level of service and support. Travel of up to 75% is expected.
How You'll Make An Impact:
- Performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's instruments, ensuring the quality performance of our instruments for customers who are working to advance the future of healthcare.
- Supporting and maintaining the Bio-Rad instruments on which our customers rely on to make scientific breakthroughs helping to advance healthcare research and treatments.
- Building and sustaining strong relationships allows you to anticipate and advocate for our customers' needs.
- By adhering to FDA and GMP regulations and requirements with detailed record keeping and service documentation helps protect Bio-Rad's integrity and reputation in the industry.
What You Bring:
- Education/Work Experience: At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment and an A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience).
- Ability to read, understand and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
- Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.
Preferred skills to support your success:
- Hands on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $63,100 to $86,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
