About the Opportunity:
The QHSES Advisor supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security Management Systems for offshore energy projects executed in U.S. and international jurisdictions. This role is pivotal in upholding compliance with international management standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), marine regulatory frameworks (BOEM, BSEE, USCG, IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS), and project-level client requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to operational integrity, risk reduction, and audit readiness while supporting a culture of "Zero Harm" and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support QMS implementation (ISO 9001), conduct audits, attend supplier quality testing and manage project and supply nonconformities.
- Implement safety management systems (ISO 45001), lead toolbox talks, and support incident investigations.
- Support project and marine operation crews as a trainer for work at heights, confined space, 1st Aid, CPR & AED, lead project site safety kickoffs, IIF meeting.
- Monitor environmental aspects and impacts, ensure MARPOL Annex V compliance, and track waste.
- Collect and process vessel emissions, fuel consumptions for sustainability reporting.
- Coordinate security protocols, ISPS compliance, and assist with facility/vessel security plans.
- Support offshore emergency response and incident management and investigations.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with BOEM, BSEE, USCG and IMO; support ISO audits and reporting.
- Support collation of project deliverables to ensure completion packages are with document control for official transmittal to client.
- Localize project safety and environmental plans to client specifications in accordance with issued permit constraint requirements.
- Support Operations and Projects with Management of Change, Permit to Work.
- Bachelor's degree
- IOGP - International Offshore General Practitioner
- IOCG - International Offshore General Construction
- IDIP - International Diploma Occupational Health & Safety Management
- CHST - construction Health & Safety Technician
- OHST - Occupational Health & Safety Technician
- ASP - Associate Safety Professional
- NVQ Level 6
- International Offshore Safety for General Construction Certification (IOGC)
- ISO 9001/14001/45001 Auditor, NEBOSH, BOSIET/FOET, TWIC, and OGUK medical.
- Advanced offshore trauma response training (e.g., EMT, OEMT, STCW Medical Care provider).
• 5+ years supporting QHSES in offshore/marine operations.
• Experience with both U.S. and international offshore energy projects.
• Familiar with vessel-based construction, heavy lifts, and ISO audits.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards and marine regulatory compliance.
• Excellent incident investigation, audit, and risk assessment skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Power BI, and QHSE software.
Travel & Conditions:
• Offshore travel, rotational assignments with active projects.
• Work in remote, variable offshore environments.
• Fit-for-duty and emergency response readiness required.
Key Interfaces:
- Project Management, Vessel Masters, Marine Superintendents, Offshore Construction Manager.
- Facility Security Officers, Client Reps, Auditors, Surveyors and Inspectors.
- Quarry and Port stevedoring representatives.
• Nonconformity resolution rate, audit readiness, incident KPIs.
• ISO certification results and stakeholder satisfaction.
