The Plant Manager of the Advanced Paper Bag Inc operation will oversee the day-to-day operations of the paper bag manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal performance across safety, quality, productivity, and cost. This role is responsible for leading a high-performing team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating across departments to meet strategic business goals. The Production Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and play a key role in achieving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Duties
  • Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, and materials handling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the facility.
  • Monitor and report on plant performance metrics including productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Oversee inventory and materials management to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with commercial and sales teams to support facility growth and maintain key customer relationships.
  • Develop and implement business plans aligned with company goals and strategic direction.
  • Quality will report to the Plant Manager, but this roll will work with quality to ensure production efficiency, consistency, and meet customer expectations.
  • Manage capital planning and implementation, including equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
  • Maintain budgetary control and manage headcount to meet operational needs.
  • Build and lead a diverse team, fostering accountability, development, and high performance.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership and external stakeholders.
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of progressive management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in operations/production management, including budget and financial oversight.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, raw materials, quality control, and distribution.
Preferred:
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformative change and build high-performing teams.
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a customer-first approach and ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish
