The Training and Staff Development Specialist

The Training & Staff Development Specialist (TSDS) supports the Behavioral Health Department by assessing training effectiveness, aligning curricula with departmental goals, and enhancing staff development. Working closely with the Training Department and the Quality Assurance Director, the TSDS evaluates current training procedures and outcomes, standardizes best practices across programs, facilitates trainings, mentors staff, and integrates current industry trends into CSR's training strategy. The role serves as a resource across BHD programs and ensures consistent communication around professional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training initiatives across BHD programs (In-Home Therapy, Community Service Agency, Therapeutic Mentoring, Outpatient).
• Conduct training needs assessments with senior leadership; align curricula to program goals and compliance standards.
• Participate in weekly supervision, team meetings, and staff debriefings with prepared updates and feedback.
• Attend ongoing internal and external professional development trainings.
• Deliver services professionally and with cultural sensitivity, maintaining confidentiality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with agency staff to promote trauma-informed care and advance CSR's mission.
• Provide field-based training and mentoring to strengthen individual and team performance.
• Support external outreach and stay current with industry developments and best practices.
• Standardize best practices and ensure consistent communication around professional development across programs.
REQUIREMENTS
Must-Haves
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children and families in behavioral health.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in community outreach and partnership development.
• Proven group facilitation and training delivery skills.
• Strong verbal/written communication; excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Massachusetts CBHI CANS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations; professional, positive demeanor.
Nice-to-Haves
• Master's degree (e.g., Public Health, Social Work, related field).
• 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience in a related setting.
• Familiarity with child- and family-serving systems and wraparound service models.
• Experience measuring training outcomes and using data to refine curricula.
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
