We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to support perimeter and edge security initiatives within our Network Security project team. This role will focus heavily on firewall implementations, VPN connectivity, and securing communication between internal systems and external entities-including customers, partners, and Internet-facing environments. The ideal candidate is a hands?on engineer with deep experience in Fortinet technologies, perimeter security, and remote access solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor, investigate, and respond to network security events and alerts using enterprise tools.
Configure, support, and troubleshoot IPSEC VPNs (site?to?site and remote access).
Provide hands-on support for edge firewall implementations and firewall policy changes.
Support daily operations of the Network Perimeter Security Engineering team.
Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot perimeter and edge security platforms.
Work with internal teams, vendors, customers, and partners to establish extranet VPN connections.
Support and maintain perimeter security technologies, including:

Intrusion prevention systems (IPS)
Web filtering
SSL?VPN and remote access
Reverse proxy solutions
2?factor authentication solutions

Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records.

Required Skills & Experience

5-8 years of overall IT experience
4+ years of networking and/or network security experience
Strong understanding of the following:

IP networking fundamentals
Firewall rules, ports, policies, and traffic flows
VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL?VPN)

Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls - REQUIRED
Experience with routers, switches, and core networking technologies
Experience supporting secure remote access solutions such as:

Zscaler ZPA
FortiClient

Familiarity with network/security tools such as:

SolarWinds
ThousandEyes
AlgoSec (policy management/optimization)
FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer

Exposure to automation and orchestration tools (Terraform, GitHub, etc.)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
