Summary

You will serve as a General Supply Specialist in the Operations Department, Logistics Support Center of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Duties

Help

  • You will provide supply support coordination for both local and visiting units as assigned, and provide port visit guidance and support as needed.
  • You will assist with transportation requirements for obtaining vehicles, and coordination of material movement as necessary.
  • You will visit and communicate with assigned ships in port daily; receive, analyze, and respond to requests for logistics support.
  • You will accept requests for assistance and suggestions from assigned units, analyze service providers' support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a practical knowledge of supply principles, concepts and methodologies in order to perform General Supply Specialist work investigating, analyzing, and resolving supply operations/management and inventory problems related to a variety of supply requirements in support of US Navy Ships to include husbanding services, port operations, hazardous materials, subsistence, and other services provided by shore infrastructures. Experience in 1) Providing units with procedures for using the Logistic Support Center (LSC), assist with parts ordering, coordinating material manifesting and delivery, and assisting with material turn-in.; 2) Coordinating supply and logistic services and in providing information such as: material delivery and transportation, subsistence material ordering and delivery procedure, ship's store material ordering and delivery procedures, hazardous material/hazardous waste delivery and offload, husbanding services including cranes, pier movement and other pier services; 3) Reviewing of outstanding requisitions with long lead times and coordination of delivery from alternate sources of supply. 4) Providing assistance directly to fleet units or acts as an interface with other sources of information to provide answers to unit's questions.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
