Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial aid, loan processing, higher education administration or a closely related field, or
- Associate degree and 4-5 years of experience in one of the areas outlined above.
- Knowledge of reconciliation procedures for student loans.
- Experience preparing regulatory reports and managing audit processes.
- Certification in financial aid administration or related areas.
- Experience working with federal and private loan programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and certify private and federal student loans (Direct Loans, PLUS Loans, and alternative/private loans).
- Review and verify loan applications for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Work with third-party loan servicers and lenders to ensure proper disbursement of funds.
- Reconcile loan disbursements with financial aid and student accounts.
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies between financial aid data and accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with federal guidelines, including Title IV regulations and state financial aid policies.
- Prepare reports on loan origination, disbursement, and borrower trend
- Monitor student loan repayment and default figures
- Work with third-party servicers to facilitate outreach to students in repayment.
- Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions for audits and compliance reviews.
- Educate students and parents on loan options, repayment plans, and financial literacy.
- Assist students in completing loan applications and understanding loan terms.
- Serve as a point of contact for students and parents regarding loan inquiries.
- Work closely with the Student Accounts office to reconcile student loan accounts.
- Liaise with loan servicers, lenders, and state agencies to facilitate loan processing.
- Coordinate with college departments to ensure smooth financial aid operations.
- Strong understanding of federal student loan regulations and private loan procedures.
- Proficiency in student information systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory guidelines and implement best practices.
