The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities:

  • All Associate responsibilities, performed independently and at a higher volume
  • Manage complex supplier setups and sensitive payment issues
  • Resolve escalated vendor and invoice disputes
  • Handle high-complexity ancillary processes
  • Support query responses for escalated issues
  • Lead agency transition support for AP
  • Review and validate 1099 reporting data

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of full-cycle accounts payable processes
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior team members
  • High degree of confidentiality and professionalism
  • High School Degree required.
