Job Description

An Angiographer is a specialized medical professional who performs angiography procedures, which involve the use of imaging techniques to visualize the inside of blood vessels and organs. This procedure is typically used to diagnose and treat conditions related to the cardiovascular system, such as blockages or other abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Angiographic Procedures:

    • Conduct diagnostic and interventional angiography on patients to visualize blood vessels.
    • Administer contrast agents (e.g., iodine-based) to enhance the visibility of the blood vessels during imaging.
    • Position and operate imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, fluoroscopy, CT, or MRI scanners to capture high-quality images.
  2. Patient Care:

    • Prepare patients for angiography by explaining the procedure, addressing concerns, and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
    • Monitor patients during the procedure to assess vital signs and any potential complications.
    • Assist in the positioning of patients to ensure accurate imaging results.
    • Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for adverse reactions to contrast agents and ensuring patient comfort.
  3. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with physicians, such as cardiologists or vascular surgeons, to interpret angiography
