GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Operations Supervisor (OS) is responsible for leading through Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values to develop a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth for the store. The OS leads a team of Task Associates and the Merchandise Manager (MM) and supports the management of retail operations, including inventory life-cycle processes like cycle counts, damages, and Return To Vendors (RTV). This role drives the store's retail business through a focus on performance, people, and process. A passion for operational excellence, results-driven leadership, and the ability to navigate unforeseen complexities are essential in this position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

Performance Foster a culture of accountability to exceed store goals related to sales, guest loyalty, payroll management, and shrink reduction. Drive profitability through operational excellence and top-line sales growth. Utilize store forecasts to support scheduling that maximizes productivity and meets sales and payroll targets. Analyze financial and operational reporting to inform timely decision-making. Implement company programs and resources to achieve store objectives. Engage with guests through product demonstrations to enhance sales and service. Stay informed on industry trends and products to better serve guests. Maintain consistent attendance and enforce the store policy among associates. People Attract and retain a diverse and talented team while efficiently filling staffing needs. Build a collaborative team culture that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand. Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth and engagement. Support professional development through training, performance feedback, and individual development plans. Engage in ongoing training to enhance product knowledge and drive sales performance. Model operational excellence and instill best practices across the leadership team. Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to drive business results. Process Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards. Uphold the dress code and operational standards. Execute inventory life-cycle processes and visual merchandising directives effectively. Manage attendance and schedules using company tools during shifts. Implement task management strategies to prioritize store workload efficiently. Maintain supply inventory and ensure budget adherence. Minimize losses by adhering to operational procedures, including cash management and safety protocols. Support continuous improvement by adopting company initiatives and technology. Communicate regularly with field leadership to share business trends and operational challenges.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
  • 2-3+ years of fast-paced retail management experience.
  • Proven success in financial management and expense control.
  • Experienced in driving service culture and executing merchandising directives.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on talent development and team motivation.
Skills
  • Proficient in technology, including Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to react under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability to work Sunday and Monday shifts.
  • Attend corporate business meetings and conferences.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Continuous mobility throughout the store, including lifting and moving items up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, pulling, pushing, and reaching.
  • Regular use of computer and telephonic devices during shifts.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00 / Hour, with opportunities for additional compensation through the company's bonus plan. Compensation will be determined by factors including education, qualifications, experience, and business needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
