Fiber Network Engineer/Designer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fiber Network Engineer/Coordinator based in Tucker, GA. This position offers the chance to play a key role in the design, planning, and coordination of a growing middle-mile fiber network supporting critical utility operations. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between fiber engineering and network reliability, collaborating closely with both field teams and NOC operations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee fiber network infrastructure projects
- Maintain and update fiber documentation, including GIS and AutoCAD designs
- Create and manage splice plans and ensure network integrity and reliability
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on testing and implementation
- Support construction and maintenance activities for OSP/ISP fiber systems
- Perform occasional site visits and field testing
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems (preferred)
- 5+ years of network design and GIS experience with fiber optic plant
- Strong background in AutoCAD, GIS, and fiber design standards
- UTC Level 1 & 2 Fiber Optic Designer Certification (preferred)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Must pass NERC CIP personnel risk assessment
- Location: Tucker, GA (100% in-office)
- Pay Rate: $45-$55/hour (approx. $95K-$115K/year, depending on experience)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM (some flexibility)
- Assignment: 12-month minimum (potential for long-term extension)
