Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Westlake, TX
Contract length: 12 months
Schedule: Hybrid, onsite 5 days/week every other week
Pay: up to $63.33/hr, DOE

Team Overview:
The team develops the back-end systems that support our Workplace Investing business. You'll work with people from a variety of Workplace Investing teams to define and build cloud solutions - platforms, systems, components, and software - that fuel our current and future business objectives. You will bring your expertise and skills into a diverse team of engineers and foster relationships with technology leaders, engineers, developers, and architects from across the firm.

Data Engineer Role Overview:
Workplace Investing (WI) technology team is seeking a highly motivated, passionate Lead Software Engineer with strong understanding of programming fundamentals and software design. In this role you will be responsible for development and maintenance of applications, production support & incident management of critical platforms. As a lead, you will be part of a dynamic team with an opportunity to partner closely with the business and technology teams across the shores and will be a key enabler in creation/adoption of the technology.

Data Engineer Deliverables:
  • Responsible for migrating existing reports to a new platform.
  • Actively participate in release planning, daily stand up as well as working & helping team with tactical activities like PL/SQL, ETL Development, maintenance, code review, performance tuning, bug fix, troubleshooting production incidents, design optimization etc.
  • Recommending and following the best engineering practices.
  • Building quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and best practices to solve business problems by driving design, development, and ongoing support.

Data Engineer Required Skills:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
  • Strong in Oracle and Postgres database concepts
  • Hands-on development experience in Informatica PowerCenter (ETL)
  • Hands-on development in SQL/PL SQL which includes performance tuning, writing packages, stored procedures, troubleshooting skills, etc.
  • Hands-on experience developing complex reports in Power BI and OAS
  • Should have some exposure to Data modeling so that they can contribute in terms of redesigning of database objects, especially during performance issues
  • Exposure to Control M, Source Tree

Data Engineer Preferred Skills:
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Good Email Communication and handshake/status call etiquettes
  • Snowflake and data lake knowledge is preferred
  • AWS/Azure certification
  • Creative, energetic, assertive hands-on professional who enjoys the challenge of change
  • Exposure to Finance and Market is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with a good attention to detail
  • Ability to perform independent technical analysis on complex projects
  • High level of commitment, initiative, vision, and enthusiasm
