Role Responsibilities:
- Take charge of all bookkeeping tasks for clients at a high level, including bank reconciliations, VAT return preparation, payroll reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Gather and process financial information from multiple sources such as banks, merchant services (PayPal, Stripe), online marketplaces (Amazon, eBay), and invoice finance providers.
- Communicate directly with clients via email and phone, with occasional face-to-face meetings at client premises.
- Monitor client deadlines and manage workloads to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications Required:
A minimum of AAT Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice.
- Competence in managing incomplete records and identifying discrepancies.
- Ability to prepare bookkeeping records up to trial balance, including processing accruals and prepayments.
- Understanding of VAT processes, including calculations, return filings, and MTD rules.
- Proficient in the following software:
- QuickBooks Online - required
- Xero - required
- Sage - preferred
- FreeAgent - preferred
- AutoEntry / Dext - preferred
- Microsoft Office, particularly Excel - required
