About the team and the role 

eBay’s Search, Browse and SEO organization is core to eBay’s business and is at the heart of the buyer experience at eBay. You'll work with some of the best in the industry to design and build relevant, human and magical shopping experiences. As a Staff Product Designer on our Agentic Search team, you will help craft the future of this critical , foundational, and groundbreaking experience. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leaders across eBay to improve the end-to-end agentic search experience for eBay customers as well as crafting the comprehensive AI experience. We will rely on you to build meaningful relationships with our product and engineering partners, with a focus on craft and execution, creating innovative and intuitive solutions and tackling eBay’s more grueling challenges through product discovery and design thinking.

What you will accomplish

  • Create world-class, user-centered designs and experiences which solve for customer needs, deliver on business requirements, account for technical feasibility and leverage future trends

  • Use your understanding of user-centered design processes and ability to create prototypes and high quality design work to drive product design for end-to-end projects in agile, cross-functional teams

  • Operate as a "Co-Founder" within the cross-functional product team by identifying and validating user problems, producing inventive and thoughtful solutions for users and the business, and shipping meaningful product updates that deliver tangible results

  • Unite multiple AI-related projects into a cohesive portfolio and end-to-end experience for our customers via collaboration with our design system teams, engineers and multiple product management teams

  • Deliver tested solutions via participation in user research, product discovery & testing


 

What you will bring
  • 8+ years of professional experience in product design as an IC design lead working across large cross-domain and cross-functional projects which define an end-to-end customer experience

  • An outstanding portfolio which demonstrates a broad range of design and product strategy across web-based and native applications and consumer experiences

  • Experience using design thinking methodologies & UCD processes to drive collaboration across agile, cross-functional teams in a large organization

  • Hands-on experience driving product and concept development, including generative research, storyboarding, user-journey mapping, competitive analysis, prototyping, qualitative interviews and quantitative testing

  • Ability to synthesize ambiguity, bringing industry trends, research, team insights, business priorities, and partner feedback into actionable UX strategy and design execution

  • Experience designing AI interfaces or other experience designing with emerging technologies

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$124,000 - $208,300

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
