The CHA laboratory provides comprehensive services, from routine blood and urine tests to specialized tissue evaluations.

Job Summary: As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will leverage clinical laboratory technology theories, principles, and practices to efficiently perform and report tests, ensuring the highest quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and evaluate Quality Control tests.
  • Conduct laboratory testing in Chemistry and Diagnostic Immunology.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and troubleshooting basic instrument issues.
  • Receive and process diverse laboratory specimens while utilizing the Meditech computer system for data management.
  • Perform both STAT and routine testing accurately and timely.
  • Assist in developing new methods and evaluating cost feasibility.
  • Train new employees in department procedures and policies.
  • Engage in department meetings and collaborate with staff on quality improvement audits.
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (MT) is required. Registration/certification as MT or MLS (ASCP), or equivalent (NCA, AMT, or HEW) is highly preferred upon hire. Candidates awaiting certification examination may also be considered.
