Finally, the TOP Advisor collaborates cross-institutionally and community-wide with program stakeholders in referring program participants to services on an as-needed basis.   Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related area.
  • One year of experience providing direct service or advising low-income, first-generation, or disabled populations. Knowledge of social or cultural systems influencing poverty and/or homelessness.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization and record keeping skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology. Student Affairs, or related area. OR; Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Student Affairs AND 5 years of experience in education or social services (or combined).
  • Two years of experience advising/counseling college students.
  • Experience working or participating in programs for historically excluded students such as TRIO
  • Bi-lingual Spanish language fluency
